What Is Hydraulic Hinge?
A hinge is a mechanical device used to connect two solids and allow relative rotation between them. Hinges can be made of removable components or of foldable material. Hinges are mainly installed on doors, windows, and cabinets. To open and close the door more smoothly and silently, hydraulic hinges (also known as damper hinges or soft close hinges) are produced with the lates technology. One of the biggest advantages of soft close hinges is that they protect the door from being slammed against the cabinet, minimising the noise to a great extend.
The hydraulic hinge, also known as a damper hinge, refers to an anechoic cushioning hinge that is ideal for providing a cushioning effect by using a high-density oil body to flow in a closed container in a directional manner. It relies on a completely new technology to adapt to the closing speed of the door. The door closes slowly on its own from 60°, reducing the impact and creating a comfortable closing effect. Even when the door is closed with force, it closes gently, ensuring a perfect, silent movement.
The soft close hinge, in particular, has a cushion assembly with a plurality of tabs fixed to one end of a synchronous rotating shaft driven by a restoring spring, and the cushion assembly is positioned in a cushion slot in the positioning assembly at one end of the restoring spring, and the cushion slot is provided with a plurality of recessed tabs for the above-mentioned cushion assembly’s tabs to be embedded in; so that the greater the opening angle of the door, the greater the restoring torque generated by the restoring spring. Conversely, as the door closes at a smaller angle and the return torque generated by the return spring decreases, the number of recessed portions of the cams and recesses decreases and the cushioning resistance between the two decreases, so that the door does not close too sharply or slowly and the impact between the door and the hopper is minimised.
Soft close hinges are becoming more and more widely used because they close softly and silently. With them, there is no fear of waking up a sleeping family member when the door is closed. Such hinges help to reduce noise and create a comfortable home environment. The hydraulic hinge is suitable for connecting the doors of wardrobes, bookcases, floor cabinets, TV cabinets, cupboards, wine cabinets, storage cabinets and other furniture.
